First, Take care of every part of yourself. Physically, emotionally, spiritually… Start simple, keep it consistent, and enjoy it. Strengthen yourself from the inside out. Physically, you already know food and exercise is the key. Find out what works for you and get started. Emotionally, connect with your healing emotions, such as forgiveness and let them have an affect on you. Spiritually, connect with God.
Second, Help other people. Sometimes you can feel like you are the only hurting person in your world. Reality check. There are people that could greatly benefit from your smile, experience, wisdom, or listening. Take time to notice others. An act of kindness helps others, but it will also help you in a big way.
Third, Join society again. Open the curtains, pull the blinds open and let the sun in. Start slowly, take a walk in a park, watch a play or movie. Gradually engage people in conversation. Soon enough you will make new friends, and life will begin again
Fourth, Move beyond fear. It is natural not to trust people again. The danger is to think that all people will betray or hurt you. That puts you in a defensive mode. Take appropriate caution but give people a chance. Let yourself trust again. Not an easy task but there is life on the other side of this.
Fifth, This is a process. You probably will not do all this in one day. It is a process. Start where you can and keep it going. If you fall short no big deal. Keep it going and add these tips one at a time..
