There are many different opinions among different people regarding the concept of unmarried couples living together. Some people believe that it is immoral to cohabitate without the vows of marriage. While at the same time, many people believe that living together with their significant other is the only way to gauge whether they can get married to them.
One thing is for sure is that living with someone will allow you to find out many things about a person you do not know about. There are things you will not be able to find out about a person without living with them, regardless of how long you two have been together. Sometimes the only way to find out if you want to spend the rest of your life with someone is to live with them. Many marriages end in divorce due to the fact that they were unable to live with that person.
The main disadvantage of living with your girlfriend is its moral implications. Many people believe that the only time you should live with your significant other is if you two are already married. It is believed by many people, as well as the teaching of the church that it is a sin to cohabitate with someone outside the sanctity of marriage.
Before you decide to live with your girlfriend you should first make sure that your relationship is strong enough to handle that type of a commitment. Both of you should be able to handle each other’s presence for extended periods of time.
